Hey, I’m having a missed miscarriage. I should be 9 weeks 3 days but unfortunately lost the baby at 6 weeks 6 days. I’m trying to decide whether to do medical or surgical. Can I have your personal experience on both please.
I also feel a bit tried. Hungry but not, nausea and a bit not myself. Did you experience this? Not sure if it’s due to hormones still. TIA

Hey, I’m so sorry for your loss ❤️ I’ve done medical management twice and personally would always choose it over the surgery. Although it’s horrible and painful, I didn’t want to risk any potential scarring causing problems for future pregnancies. If you go for the medical management, keep on top of your painkillers, take them every 4 hours or whatever the dosage instructions are, not when you feel the pain as it’ll take too long to kick in, get your favourite food in, set up a comfortable area to spend the next few hours (was 7 hours for me both times) and have a hot water bottle. Whichever route you decide to take I hope you’re ok and sending lots of love x

Hi, I’m so sorry! I’ve had both now. With my first I had the medical management and I was in a lot of pain but I waited to take pain relief for some reason, I should’ve taken them straight away like Beth suggests above!
And last week I had the surgical option under local anesthetic. I was very worried about this as I didn’t want any complications however it was so quick. It was painful but they gave something similar to gas and air to breathe through which helped and the bleeding stopped so quickly. I did say to my partner I’d probably opt for this again in the future if I had to. But pros and cons to both for sure.
