Group B Strep

Hi, do we routinely get tested for GBS? Many years ago I had a positive GBS swab, so am wary of this but can’t seem to see if it is offered on NHS. Thanks

From google it isn’t routinely offered unless you’ve had it before. So mention it at your next appointment. I’ve got it and have been tested for it but that was because my partner had a test before we found out I was pregnant and he has it. When I had my hospital appointment I told the doctor and asked for a test which they did for me. I’ve been told I need to go on antibiotics as soon as my waters break.

I was tested for it at my booking appointment and haven’t been tested since

Never been tested and asked midwives and was told they dont routinely test in the UK anymore as costs vs benefits apparently didnt add up. I was told id have to pay privately if I wanted it...

They don’t test for it in pregnancy anymore as it can develop at any time, meaning they’d have to constantly test you. My baby did have this when born and had to have antibiotics for 7 days. X

Young mum

Hi guys,

I’m just wondering if there’s any other young parents that are getting further into their pregnancy and like, genuinely just clocking that I’m gonna be responsible for a baby and I don’t know everything their is to know about baby’s I feel like I’m gonna be so useless and accidently be the worst mum in the world 🫣

Does anyone else feel like this? Or felt like this? I’m 19 and genuinely have so much anxiety about this now I’m 20 weeks lol

So annoyed, dog jumped on me :( now I’m anxious

I have a big dog and she NEVER jumps.. today I came home and my mum was with me visiting and my dog must have just got over whelmed and she jumped and ended up scratching my lower back,

with that I’ve bent backwards almost and stretched my lower belly and it didn’t hurt as such just felt like tha shock ligament pain but ofc I haven’t actually bent that far since being pregnant and now I just feel anxious really and just need some reassurance. It only happened about 15 mins ago and I have felt baby a little since

But why is there always something to worry about!😭
