So I have anterior placenta but second pregnancy and feel a lot a lot more then I did first time. Normally baby girl is quite active and doesn’t have a pattern as such but today I feel like I’ve hardly felt her, I can feel slight movements but nothing compared to normal. People are saying maybe she’s having a lazy day… when do I get concerned? I hate been a burden.

Any kind of reduced movements that seems different for baby should always checked out. They won’t think you’re being a burden I promise you they will want you to come in. I’ve been in twice in the last month and they told me to come right in. Just give triage a call. They’ll will just monitor baby for about 40 minutes or so. Xx

If you are worried always get check out.. Triage will always say come in to put your mind at rest.

I'm 32+4, first pregnancy with an anterior placenta. She has a bit of a pattern, does her morning and evening dances. But I've noticed some days she's suuuuuper active throughout the day with really hard kicks and nudges all over the place, other days she's much quieter. It's so tricky when there's no clear patterns isn't it! Do the usual sweet drink, lie back, have a chat with her 😂 if she's still quiet and it's worrying you then no harm in ringing triage xx

Anything that’s different for your baby then please call triage. If you’ve had a noticeable reduction in movements then as midwives we now recommend not wasting time lying down with a cold drink etc first, just call and go in. Can always drink something cold or eat something sugary on the drive over.

They will never call you a burden, definitely do not feel like one this is your baby! If you’re worried get checked :)
Thanks so much everyone! She has been moving a lot since I put this on 🤞🏼

You will never ever be a burden and they will be more happy than anything that you have gone to get checked BUT that being said, If you’re ever worried with something like reduced movement or even slight reduced movement and you’re worried about wasting time or a visit not being needed , call them up first and explain exactly what’s going on and they will tell you themselves if you need to go in or not. The way my brain works is if I’m TOLD by a midwife that I need to go in , I don’t feel like I’m wasting peoples time whereas if I just turned up, I’d be second guessing. They have phone lines for this exact reason and the calls arnt usually more than a few minutes.

This is my second baby - also a girl and I have all the same as you!
I’ve always just gone to triage if I’m ever concerned. To the point I think I’ve been 4/5 times now 🤦🏼♀️.
I’ve always been so welcomed, despite feeling like a nuisance and everytime they’ve said it something doesn’t feel right just call them.
