My little girl is 15 weeks old and has never been a massive feeder. She’s been exclusively formula since 3 weeks old. The guidelines on the formula box says she should be having 6 feeds at 5oz now but she only has 5 feeds at 4oz and 1 at 2-4oz. But the past couple of days she seems to be taking less at her feeds - about 3oz. On a few occasions she’s drank a 5oz but this has only been a few times.
I know they say to feed on demand but she just wasn’t really demanding … so we’ve kept up with the feeding her every 3 hours or so.
She seems to be gaining weight and growing, although she’s currently still predominantly in 0-3 month clothing.
Should I be worried or is this okay?

Do not worry or pay attention to what it says on the back of the tin. Babies are just like adults, there’s a huge spectrum when it comes to eating, some will eat more than others. A baby will take in just what they need, and as long as they’re gaining weight and following their percentile there’s nothing to be concerned about. My son was on 6oz bottles at 4 months, but my daughter only drinks 2-3oz at a time and that’s at a push. We used to feed on demand but it’s more 3 hours or so now like your little girl. Try not to worry as it will consume you - from experience.

If you are worried speak to your health visitor but as long as she is gaining weight and is happy she may not need as much, the guidelines are broadly made to cover all babies and every baby is different x

My boy has mainly breastmilk (bottle fed) but we have to top up with formula and he will have between 2-5oz at a time and he is a chunky monkey. As long as she’s having plenty of dirty and wet nappies I wouldn’t be too worried. My boy is 16 weeks on Tuesday and has been a bit fussier on the bottle so might be age thing too.

Every baby is different so I wouldn't stress too much at the guidelines. As long as she's doing well otherwise and doesn't seem ill she's doing great 👍

If she's growing fine and there are no concerns, don't worry. I used ready-made formula and found it helpful to line up the containers on my counter as they were used, then count them every day at 6 am, so I had a general idea of how much she ate in 24 hours. But this was only to keep track in case the doctor had any concerns. If it's never brought up and there are no concerns about growth, then let baby lead and go with it.

My little girl was the same untill recently she was never a big drinker and she never drank what she was ment to. Honestly don’t worry I used to panic sooooo much about her not drinking enough but every baby is different xx

Do what’s best for YOUR baby! As a ftm I was so worried about how often she should feed, whether she was getting enough and other things like that. As long as baby is having 6 wet nappies a day, awake and alert, gaining weight and seems like their usual self. Then you have noting to worry about!!!! Things I can suggest, just stick to feeding on demand or every 3 hours as you are, baby will tell you when she has/hasn’t had enough. My little girl is 6 months old and normally only drinks 4/5 oz of breastmilk from a bottle, on the very rare occasion she’s had 6 oz! But she tends to feed every 2/3 hours
