My husband travels for work and my mum rang me just before dinner yesterday and I was telling her that, it’s just me and LO tonight. She was like oh wow, can’t believe your used to the life of him going away for work. I said yea it’s fine, it’s our normal. Then she ask we talk whiles his away and I said yes most days it’s 2 day (in the morning and in the evening) and days where his not as busy, he would call me during the day. She was shocked and said wow you guys act like you’re still dating! I was like well yea… his my husband we love catching up with each other and talk about our day. We’ve been married for 6 years now and she made it sound like it was strange that we spoke on the phone like we were still dating.

We text, call and usually FaceTime if we can and it lines up with all the daily activities. I don’t think communicating with your spouse means you act like you’re dating and if it does then good, you should keep dating your spouse and stay happy and excited to see and hear from them.

Not me, but my mum talks to my stepdad at least daily while he’s away at work and spends a lot of her Saturday talking to him over the phone (that’s his free day when away). He’s away for 3 months at a time and on a moving boat so time zones can limit how much they can speak.
My partner doesn’t work away, but whenever he is on break I am either texting or calling him 😅 need to know how his work is going
