Swollen gums 😭

My LO (12 months) has had high temperature for the last couple days but no other symptoms so I put it down to teething as it looks like he’s got some new teeth coming through. Since yesterday I’ve noticed his gums at the top are very swollen, inflamed and look sore - he’s also been off his food completely which is not normal for him even when he’s not well. Went to the GPs today and she said yes the gums look very sore and inflamed but she had no idea what it could be so that was no help unfortunately.

I’ve done some reading online and have seen that it could be an allergic reaction to ibuprofen and now I’m wondering if it’s that even though he’s had nurofen a few times before. Still doesn’t explain the temperature but just wondering if that’s why his gums are so swollen and if anyone has experienced anything similar? Thanks for reading šŸ«¶šŸ¼

Those gums do look super inflamed! I haven’t experienced this however if baby isn’t eating it’s usually not too much of a concern- as long as baby is still having liquids & went nappies. If it is really bother baby & behaviour starts to change, I’d personally call 111 or go to urgent care just to get a second opinion!! Hope baby feels better soon!! x
