I'm in ny and it's cold here. My house is older so the insulation isn't great and the master bedroom where baby's bassinet is the coolest room in the house in winter. She's been sleeping well in her long sleeve zippy with a fuzzy sleep sack but I've noticed in the morning her toes are cold. I'm concerned when it gets the coldest in january/february she will need something warmer but not sure what to add since blankets aren't safe yet. Thoughts?

I’m from NY and I totally understand what you mean just swaddle her. That’s what I did with my son during winter when I was in NY . Just make sure she also doesn’t get too hot

Sleep sack!

Merino wool is amazing for temperature regulating, it’s a bit of an investment but so worth it. I do the woolino sleep sack and I just bought some merino wool onesies

Also, check the back of the neck to see if your baby is warm enough, they have poor peripheral circulation that’s why they can have cold hands and feet even when properly dressed

I’m in Ohio so I understand the cold. My LO is just swaddled. His fingers and toes are always cold to me but his body is always warm. He is in the stage of constantly breaking out the swaddle but needs the swaddle to sleep. I fear he’d get too hot swaddled with clothes. You could add socks if you feel she needs it.

Hi! Also Babies regulate their temperature from 9 to 12 months, sometimes up to 2 years. If the baby is cold or not, you should check their back in the middle where the shoulders open.
