Baby frustrated he cant transition from tummy to sitting still 🤦🏾‍♀️

HV at 10 months old said this is fine, soon he will figure it out coz he has the strength to army crawl, sit for long periods and stand/cruise and squat for periods.

But once he falls onto his tummy, he still hasn’t figured out how to get onto sitting position from his tummy n doesn’t even try to get onto all 4s!!! He gets so frustrated n cries for us to take him to places n other toys, as soon as i hold him he tries to use me to carry him to the toy he wants or tries to clamber over me. He can however go from sitting, onto all 4s then back up and from sitting to pulling himself up to stand

At what age is it fine to let them feel frustrated in order to figure things out?

For too long already we have all been propping him up for playtime and making barriers around him so big sibling doesn’t hurt him. So he hasn’t been moving freely enough. And wen he does move its been uncontrolled rolling until i started putting him on wood floor so he had to army crawl as vigorous rolling hurt his head

My 1st refused to transition from army crawl to proper crawling until we put carpet dowm as coz he always had smooth floors to easily move on, its amazing how environment effects development so much

At this point i still think this is our fault rather than a development delay or musculoskeletal problem but its so frustrating for the adults to watch him struggle n say no to his pleas to help him move, we just pick him up n cuddle him when he moans. We can’t walk or sit near him when he on tummy, he just wants us to help him move

Don’t blame your self please, he will be just fine mama. I also have a 10 months old he is crawling but we did a lot of exercises to help him with that. There are a lot online just pic your own one even practicing once a day will make a huge different. One which I think it really helped was letting my son playing in a kneeling position for few sec this strength thier knees but also makes them aware of it. You can also try to crawl shoe the how it is done lol, my son loves when I am also crawling he looked surprised.

Sometimes they just need a bit of help from us.
