Cough

Here another video of him coughing, just non stop. He even wakes up crying , I absolutely hate it. And this has been months , we have gone to doctors multiple times, fiest time with an upper respiratory infection, 2nd time he got staph, 3rd time they said allergies, and this time it went from a stomach bug to this terrible cough, im so worried also with him missing so many days if prek , but I literally cant help that

My son (who does not have asthma) gets a bad cough with illnesses and an (albuterol) inhaler has been INCREDIBLY HELPFUL. He too would be coughing non stop. And if it was ever SO bad he couldn’t even stop coughing long enough to take the inhaler, then we did a short course of prednisone (a steroid) which helps every single time. (I’m a nurse practitioner and felt comfortable with these!). I carry these medications with me every time we travel.

My daughter was like this and doctors just kept saying it will pass until I told them that it was probly asthma related. We finally got the inhalers, albuterol and a steroid one and she was much better u till last summer, when she was coughing non stop when there was nothing else wrong with her. Did my own research and put it down to exercise induced asthma and got her out on a daily tablet called montelukast which made a world of a difference

My son got sick 2.5 weeks ago and has been coughing non stop as well, took him to the doctor and she said his lungs and everything look clear- just blamed it on allergies. He never had allergies before and I’m certain his cough is related to the sickness he got 2.5 weeks ago but nothing else seems wrong w him, he’s just coughing. Idk what to do as well. as a np, do you recommend we get steroid as well? I’d greatly love to hear your advice.
