Omeprazole to Gaviscon

My baby girl (12 weeks) was prescribed omeprazole at 6 weeks, this was recommended to me by a friend who is a GP. I had to go private to get it prescribed as the NHS GP would only give gaviscon.

We flirted with omeprazole but didn’t commit until 4 weeks ago. Baby is now worse than ever. She cries hysterically. She isn’t overtly sick but I was told she has silent reflux. Anyway, she’s been ebf but now taking a bottle. Apparently omeprazole can cause tummy pain and excessive wind, has anyone else found that their baby has been better after stopping omeprazole?

GP has recommended we try gaviscon, just two sachets in a bottle once a day. Does anyone has experience of giving such a low dose?
