My six month old will be seven months tomorrow and still cannot sit independently. She hates it when we practice and cries or arches her back straight to prevent us from getting her to sit down. I’m at a loss of what to do and am so worried.

mine does the same hes 7 months old he arches his back and rather me stand him up

It's pretty typical for a six month old to not be sitting yet, especially if she is army crawling or moving in other ways. My oldest didn't until almost 8 months.
But if you are worried, bring her to a pediatric physical therapist for an evaluation. You don't need a pediatrician referral usually and lots of insurances will cover both an eval and the sessions if needed.

I would definitely bring her to a pediatric physical therapist for an eval if that is the case. They are magic.

Mine just turned 7 months andago doesn’t sit independently but likes to be sat up. Not crawling yet but rolling and pivoting.

I took him to a physical therapist and they said he has torcolitis( not spelled correctly) that said it’s not bad just that neck muscles on the right side are a little tighter and gave some exercises to do at home.

Yeah I think all babies just take their own time momma! I do soo much floor time with my boy, he’s 7 months and I work on sitting with him but samee. Don’t feel like a failure, I have recently but we have to remind ourselves that all babies are different!

Same but I practice with my daughter to sit up while I feed her

My baby is almost 7 months she just found out how to sit by herself and she scoots and doesn’t crawl and when she tries to crawl she just rocks back and forth and laughs and I’m like uhhh what are u doing that’s not crawling silly goose
