Dating issues

Been dating a guy for around 18 months he lives with his parents he’s age (30) I live with my 3 children I’m also (30). He’s not got any children but I’m rather struggling with the whole dating situation. Not sure if it’s just me but whenever we talk deep about him moving in or having potential children together he closes up and makes so many statements about how he needs to remain at home with his parents he’s got a lot of family issues. I’m starting to wonder if he has commitment issues and wondered if anyone has been through similar situations where it’s worked out or what experiences people have been through. He lives an hour away from me and we barely see eachother as it is, starting to feel more like a long distance friendship now than a relationship but feel like I’m in so deep with my heart on the line I don’t want to get hurt🙈 any advice would be so highly appreciated right now

Mixed signals = No. If he wanted to, he would. Protect your heart girl and choose yourself and your children

Thank you both I appreciate you both taking the time to reply, I feel so lost. I love him but doesn’t feel like he’s giving the same back. My gut feeling says something is off about it all but then I keep holding on hoping I’m wrong 🥺

I’d cut your losses. If he isn’t willing to discuss the future or open up about why he needs to stay with his parents, then he’s not looking for a commitment. You’ve been together long enough that I think most people would be reaching the commitment (in whatever form that comes as the next step) or cut their losses.

I dated a guy who was divorced because after they married and bought a brand new house she dropped the bomb that her mom had to move in with them. She was living with her mom who raised her as a single parent. You don’t want to be in that position.

His lack of commitment does not reflect on you. Lay it out for him. You’re looking for a relationship where they will move to you because you have kids who need to stay in their school district. If he’s not looking to do that, it’s not your fault.

I’d say run now and protect your heart. Does his family know about you? Maybe go over there since he can’t come to you . However, I’m heavy on the saying “ if he wanted to then he would”. It’s seems like his family will forever control his life and you should eliminate yourself from the situation.
