Hi all!
So I'm 21 weeks (tomorrow) and as of yet I can probably count on one hand the times I've been more than 50% sure what I'm feeling or baby girls movements.
I have an anterior placenta so know that plays into account and I may just be being inpatient. But this is my first and potentially only pregnancy and I just wonna feel her already š¤£
I have quite a grumbly digestive system anyway so don't know if they're getting lost in my usual rumbles and grumbles.
I keep getting tiny little tickle like feeling that make me itch the outside of tummy but I don't feel anything internal as such on those occasions.
I feel like I've felt "flutters" and "bubbles" but not 100% sure.
I AM however pretty sure I felt one good kick quite low down and to the side this morning.
I just worry that I'm missing movements and not getting used to her normal and therefore missing potential concerns.
Set my mind at please.
Also I'm plus size so seeing them visually is also going to take longer on top of the anterior placenta š¤¦š¼āāļø

Hello hello :) . Movement are very difficult at the start . For my first i was 20 + wheb i started to feel bubbles .. and my placenta was posterior so i wiuldnt worry to much it will come to proper kick soon . I am on my third baby with a posterior again and i can feel proper kick even my belly moves and all . So i would say the first pregnancy is just a waiting game for all those nice things to happen if that make sense š.

Hey! I donāt have a solution but Iām 20 weeks and have a posterior placenta with a healthy bmi and i think what youāre describing is quite normal. Iāve for the last two days only just felt my baby despite consciously trying to feel her. Itās like a muscle twitch for me and I can see the movement sometimes too. I have also felt the occasional little pop. I too am not completely sure. I also know people who have said their babies didnāt have a pattern of movement. Mine is currently into a 10am burst of activity and then random moments but itās all so new that itās hard to know for sure. I think with an anterior placenta especially that youāre in a good place. In that youāre feeling something and itās very likely your baby. I think weāre a few weeks away from knowing clear patterns xx

Hi love. There is no normal at 21 weeks. They move really whenever they want to until 24 weeks so there will be times she unusually kicks or there are times where she wont kick for a long time & thats normal for where u r :). And it most likely is baby what u r feeling. They arent strong always with anterior placenta! Mh baby is active some days and some days she isnt and thats normal. They dont develop patterns until 24-28 weeks :)

Hi lovely! This is totally normal. In my first pregnancy I had an anterior placenta and I didnāt feel my son properly until around 22/23. Even then I was lucky to feel him 3/4 times a day and Iād have to literally be laying down or sitting really still. Anterior placenta is a bugger! You will feel her though eventually and the little movements your feeling most likely are her. 24 weeks in when she should start to get a pattern! š«¶š¼

Hey! I'm 22+2, first baby and anterior placenta and in the same boat. I've only ever felt him properly kick once, and that was almost 2 weeks ago, nothing but bubbles since then, and even that's maybe once or twice a day? I'm trying not to worry too much until 24w, I think movements are meant to be more regular by then. Anterior placenta is frustrating! X

Hey, Iām 21 weeks pregnant with my first as well, due 10th May! Almost to the day of your due dateš„°
I feel exactly the same, Iāve also got an anterior placenta, but they say with your first baby you often donāt feel the movements that easily until you know what youāre looking for.
I too have a grumbly digestive system, so I canāt tell what noises/movements are whatš
But I have been told it can take up to 24-25 weeks before you know for sureš¤š¼
I loved my 20 week scan because it reassured me all ok, but canāt wait for movements as that would be more consist check-ins that baby is ok etc so hopefully wonāt be long!šš¼š¤

Since posting I've tried to be more intentional with trying to get in tune with what might be going on in there... which is hard because I'm always on the go but giving myself 10 minutes where I can to lay really still I've managed to feel her once or twice. But like many of you have said, I'll keep patient!!!
I have my next midwife apt on 20th so I'll be 24 weeks 1 day ...I might get sent for growth scans I might not. But it's all starting to feel very real now! Not sure how you other first timers are feeling as well ?!?!
