I really want to read this series, but so confused about the correct reading order! What is the overall thought?

Generally it’s the way the author published them so it would be
1. Throne of glass
2 crown of midnight
3. Assassins blade
4. heir of fire
5. Queen of shadows
6. Empire of storms
7. Tower of dawn
8 Kingdom of Ash
Although if you really don’t like being in the dark as a reader then read assassins blade first to get all the backstory but only if you really don’t enjoy that cause I think reading it third is the best way
I highly recommend the tandem read of EoS and ToD though don’t think I could handle reading them separately 😂

I’ve reread it twice and my favourite order is:
Throne of Glass
Crown of Midnight
The Assassins Blade
Heir of Fire
Queen of Shadows
Tandem read- Tower of Dawn & Empire of Storms
Kingdom of Ash
BUT if your new to the genre read Assassin’s Blade first.
Just personal preference! Enjoy reading it is an amazing series 🫶🏼

I swear by the authors intention for the order, so Assassins blade third! You build up a picture of the characters so when you get to that book it all makes more sense and really has an impact! I can’t imagine reading it first. I tandem read empire of storm and tower of dawn and omg I’m so glad!

Assassins blade first 100%

I read Assassins Blade 4th, after TOG, COM and HOF but it can be read 1st too. Would not recommend leaving it later than the 3rd book as you get some background in AB that helps the story.
I also tandem read EOS and TOD as they are happening at the same time.

I agree with assassins blade being third! The main character is mysterious in the first two books and I think assassins blade gives away too much about her background if it’s read first.

You can either read Assassin’s Blade first or third but personally I prefer reading it first!

Assassin Blade 3rd!!

Assasins blade is the first chronologically but was released third. I read it first and am glad i did it that was otherwise you would know the general gist of the book before reading it x

I bought the series as a series and they came boxed with Assassin’s Blade first so that’s the way I read them, I had no idea there was another way!

I personally usually prefer things in timeline order so that’s how I read it, and loved it too! So assassins blade first

I read Assassin's Blade first and I don't regret it one bit!

Definitely Assasins Blade 3rd bookings 1 and 2 are all about keeping her past from those she loved. She didn’t want people to know and I think that tells the story better. Only when you get to know the main character more does she want everyone to understand why she is how she is
