Hypermesis gravidarum (HG)

Did anyone who had HG with their first pregnancy experience it again with their second? If so was it worse or about the same as first time?

Hello, I had HG in both my pregnancies, worse the second time, they were 3 years apart x

Yup, 1st time and currently 20 weeks along and it’s the same again.

I didnt have it personally but my mom and both of my sisters did.
With my mom it was worse with her second, slightly better with her 3rd pregnancy (but she had twins so she was on bedrest for all of her pregnancy except 6 weeks), and her last pregnancy it was the best but only because she did a special HG diet leading up to and throughout her pregnancy

Also side question, are you by chance double jointed?

Avatar

That's what my family's theory is !!!! My mom and sisters are all double jointed but im not, and im the only one who didnt have HG while pregnant!

The HG diet i think was something crazy like no additives, preservatives, and sugar... but I think if you look up hyperemisis diet something should come up!

There’s something I read that said if you had it with your first it’s about 70% chance you’ll have it with your next pregnancy too

Had HG in my first all 9 months, and now I’m 27 weeks with my second and still being sick, although I feel it was worse with my first xx

I’m sorry for asking but what is that? I’m curious.

I have had HG throughout all my pregnancies, second pregnancy did seem to be worse than my first and currently I’m 26 weeks and it’s going better with this one but still pretty much the same x

Anxiety with the bump.

I’m 36 weeks pregnant and I’ve suddenly developed a massive anxiety around anyone standing behind me. My husband is annoying me so much because even though I’ve told him how it makes me feel, he’s continued doing stuff in our kitchen (that is tiny anyway) and sliding past me to grab things. I know the baby is safe even if I were to bump the bump a little but even the thought of it is still making extremely anxious. How do I cope with this feeling and is anyone else going through the same sort of thing?

Breathless and feeling like I need to be sitting constantly!

Has anyone else been feeling this way as they're getting closer to their due date?

I attempted to change our bedding this evening and had to call my husband for back up as I literally felt like my lungs were going to explode just trying to reach over to put the sheet on.

I'm huffing and puffing just getting my toddler into his pjs, and I was sat down! Like what is going on 😮‍💨🥲

Everything has been check ie bloods etc so I think it's just general pregnancy as I'm now 38 weeks. My bump feels like it weighs about 100lbs 😭

Friends wedding abroad

Hi all. I know this is FTM... But really need advice. I am currently pregnant with baby #2. Only 8 weeks. I didn't want to tell anyone yet, my partner and boss knows (needed for risk assessment reasons annoyingly). My friend is getting married in a remote part of Spain in ~3 months. I've already had a few minor complications, pain, bleeding, vanishing twin... I got preeclampsia last pregnancy and a terrible birth.
I am pretty sure I don't feel comfortable flying and then travelling out to a remote part of Spain during pregnancy. It will just be me and my toddler. I know it's overcautious but I just don't feel comfortable. I'm not even sure if I am going to be classified as high risk pregnancy or not.
How do I handle this? I need to tell her ASAP, but I didn't really want to tell anyone yet as doc told me miscarriage risk is a bit increased with vanishing twin. Any ideas?

When to prepare?

I’m 34w1d with my second baby. Today at my midwife appointment she said baby is 2/5 engaged, I’ve packed my hospital bags but unsure when to start building baby’s crib. Installing car seat ect. When is everyone else doing these things?

Anxious/depressed

My first pregnancy symptom was my anxiety out of nowhere. I feel like I'm a bundle of nerves and just so scared of everything. Is anyone else feeling similar? How are you managing? Are we contributing it to hormones?
