Hi mamas! 🤍
Can anyone share their honest experience with Happy Parents, Happy Baby — is it actually worth it? How are the locations they choose? And did you find it easy to meet other lovely parents-to-be?
My cousin attended and felt they skimmed over quite a lot of important information around both pre- and post-birth, so I’d love to hear other perspectives.
If you’ve had a great experience with any other NCT groups, please do recommend — I’m very open to suggestions! ✨

I did Happy Parents Happy Baby last spring in Wanstead for my baby born in June 2025 and had a good experience overall. They cover the basics like feeding and nappy changing, but also signs and stages of labour, vaginal birth, C-sections, both unmedicated and pain relief options. There’s time for questions and extra online videos to watch in your own time, plus a brief intro to baby first aid (CPR/choking).
The biggest positive for me was meeting parents with similar due dates, we have a WhatsApp chat & now 7 months postpartum, we still meet up and support each other. I’ve found local mum friendships hard to make through Peanut or baby groups, so that alone made it worth it for me.
Only downside was sitting for long periods while heavily pregnant — the seats weren’t the comfiest, so bring a cushion!

Pretty much agree completely. Worth it for the WhatsApp group for support through the early months, and the meet ups throughout mat leave. I’m not sure how I would have handled without it.
The info is top level and IMO very focused on vaginal birth. But it gave me a base understanding of a few bits.

We did HPHB and thought it was good overall. I think it was more useful for the guys as I knew a lot of the content through my own research and conversations with other mums - but I know my husband found it really helpful. It was great for discussing birth options and hands-on stuff demonstrating how to change a baby’s nappy but the section on breastfeeding was an online call and I think that would have been much more helpful in person!
The only thing I felt was actively wrong was the section on birth recovery- they split the group into mums and dads. The dads just went downstairs to have a drink and a chat and the mums got told all about postpartum depression - but you need your partner to know about it and be able to spot any warning signs.
I think a lot of people do it for the ready-made community of people you get linked with, and that was also helpful. We mostly stayed in touch for the first year and then gradually people moved on. I made one really close friend though! ♥️
