Antenatal classes

Hello everyone, I hope you are well! I was wondering if anyone attended the "Journey to Parenthood" free programme provided by Islington and if you recommend it or if you rather recommend the paid classes e.g. by HappyParentsHappyBaby or NCT? Thanks so much ✨

I'm doing the new parents course and finding it way more useful than antenatal classes. I did happy parents happy baby and felt like it was a waste of time but I mainly joined to make friends which I made a few.

Hello,
I did Journey to Parenthood and I liked it a lot, met a great group of parents (still in contact). The topics were good, and I thought it was really great whilst I was on it. Then after the baby was born… 🤦‍♀️ i wished they mentioned a few more things (they didn’t touch on the topic of sterilisation, they could have been more thorough on postpartum challenges). I didn’t do any other class but heard they were expensive and hearing my friends I have the feeling they can be opinionated on certain subjects, like around natural birth, or breastfeeding - which can make mothers feel super guilty or feel like a failure when they did the best they could - instilling very very high expectations to be “a good mum”. I hope I’m wrong
