I’m thinking of putting on a cotton sleepsuit and then this on top? And maybe a light blanket on top? What is everyone doing? It will be cold as baby is due 19th February. Or will a car seat muff be better? And enough? And then the pramsuit on top of sleepsuit for at home? Don’t want baby to be too hot but then not too cold either. I’m going home in car.
If not this pramsuit, then would a cardigan be ok on top of a cotton sleepsuit and blanket on top? Or just a fleece sleepsuit, no cardigan on top and blanket?

How are you getting home? If you’re intending on walking with a pram then it’s a great suit but they shouldn’t wear thick items like pramsuits when in the car as the harness is too slack if there was a crash & they can overheat

I don’t think so, not to be in the car in. Your fine putting them in it to walk to the car but not whilst your travelling xx

I wouldn't take a pram suit its not safe in the car seat xx

We took son home in his car seat from the ward, just put a blanket on him to get to the car, you can't wear coats and thick clothing like this in the car seat

We had a January baby last time and she wore her outfit, plus a knitted cardigan and blanket with a hat on. The walk too the car wasn’t too far and I didn’t want to have to take her out to take off a pram suit before putting her in the car.

Baby due February 12th 🤚 we are going with a sleepsuit and then over the top of the car seat a blanket. We have been advised nothing thick such as a sleepsuit or a coat is ever to be worn in a car seat as it causes a poor fitting and restricts the safety of the seat.

not suppose to wear a pram suit in car x also can’t really say wether you should put a pram suit on top of sleep suit at home as it fully depends on the temperature in your home , im mostly only going to use pram suit outside not in the house as i have heating and overheating is easy with baby x

Car seat safety required no thick coats or suits. A cardigan with a blanket will be fine to use while traveling to the car

I had my baby in December last, he went home in a bodysuit, a knitted wool outfit with a hat snd blanket. A baby can overheat in a coat or thick pram suit in a car seat. Unfortunately I know the risks as my little boy overheated with too many layers and had a seizure so just be careful x

I wouldn’t bother with pram suit as not safe for the car seat, my hospital would not allow someone to leave with this and get into a car! my girl was born jan 2025- she had a knitted outfit (trousers and cardigan), long sleeve vest, hat and blanket to leave the hospital.
My next daughter is due this Feb and will be in almost the same outfit!
Vest + standard cotton sleepsuit, hat and blanket will be more than enough getting to the car as you leave the hospital.
Vest + standard sleepsuit will also be more than fine in the house, as you will be holding baby, in blankets etc etc.
Rule of thumb is 1 more layer than yourself - a folded blanket is 1 layer for every fold (if in half, 2 layers etc).
Hope this helps x

You can't put them in this in a car seat. My boy is going to have sleepvest, sleepsuit, hat, mittens and blanket in the car x
