Nursery rules on antibiotics

My son has an ear infection and will be on day 5 of his antibiotics by the time he goes back to nursery. It’ll be the last day essentially, would I be allowed to take him/would they give the antibiotics at lunch time? Just to add, he is feeling much better and I’ve taken him to the doctors and they said the ear has cleared up

It’ll depend on their medication policy. Some will allow attendance after the child has been taking them for 24-48 to rule out any allergies or reactions to the medication even if they’ve taken it before. If allowed, they should have a form for you to complete stating when exactly he should be given the dose, and how much. Usually by that point you only need to keep a child at home if they’ve have contagious symptoms and really don’t appear well.

Check with your nursery what their policy is!
Certainly at ours he would be allowed in.

It’ll be in the policy. Ours has to be off for 48 hours after given and the nursery staff given them at the time I ask x

Ours can go in but they won’t administer the antibiotics, I would need to go in and do it myself

Call to check our will as long as they have been on the antibiotics for two days atleast and don’t have symptoms like temperature etc 😊

With mine they'll administer any antibiotics as long as they've got the label from the doctor on to say what they need and when but they won't take him for until he's had the doses to cover the first 24 hours

The nursery mine goes to. You fill out a form and you put down the times it is to be had and the medication goes in a bad with the kids name on.
Interesting they gave you oral antibiotics. Mines got an ear infection and has ear drops twice a day so ive not had to do the medical form for nursery. Which OMG not fun to administer!
