Hospital bag

Hiya, I am thinking about packing my hospital bag soon and want to know what everyone actually used and what they packed their stuff in, as my first pregnancy was a cryptic pregnancy and I was not prepared at all 😂 but I’ve seen a lot of list but I don’t want to over pack, any suggestions?

Hey! Honestly don’t stress too much, as long as you have the essentials like a change of clothes and basic showering stuff. I didn’t shower until about 24 hours after the birth and my husband had been home twice by then 😂
The things I’m so glad I packed were electrolyte sachets and salty snacks!!

I separated things into zip lock bags & labelled which was really handy as I had an epidural so it was midwives and my partner going into the bag when my daughter was born.

I had all her stuff in a duffle bag and my stuff in a suitcase. It meant during the night I just had her small bag at the bottom of my bed and could easily get nappies, clean vests etc without having to reach down or push the buzzer.

I used my fans, found the ward roasting. We have a powerful portable charger which I used as the plugs were too far away (i had been warned of this so also brought a multi socket but wasn’t needed) X

Absolutely need a long phone charger, clothes for you and the baby (a couple in each size), snacks and a water bottle and if you don’t like water then I found the little squeeze bottle of diluting juice was life saving, arnica tablets and if you’re on iron tablets take them too as they help you when you’re bleeding post birth, slippers and a dressing gown. Anything that makes you feel more comfortable is a win but honestly don’t stress too much, the hospital will have things on the ward and there will be a shop if you need anything, plus your birth partner can always nip home and get stuff you need.

Also top tip for me, get your birth partner to pack the bag for you so when you need something, they know where it is without having to ask you as you’ll not have the bandwidth to remember which pocket you put things in x

Definitely an extra long charger cable and a fan. A nightshirt or long tshirt to wear. I got a button up nighty and it was so comfy. I highly recommend the frida mom disposable pants and their pads for post birth. Loose clothes, elasticated waist trousers.

Definitely Frida mom disposables ! Ward was so hot that I was only wearing them and a top 🫣
A peri bottle and a million pads! Snacks and water !!!!
