Peanut Safety Series: Let’s Talk About Group Chats 👥

Hey 👋 Community team back again with our Safety Series. This time we’re talking about group chats!

We’ve seen a big increase in users creating or sharing links to group chats outside of Peanut and while we know many are well-intentioned, these chats can quickly become unsafe.

When group chats happen off Peanut, we can’t step in to moderate if something goes wrong. That means there’s no easy way for us to act on reports, remove harmful content or protect members from potential scams or predatory behavior.

We strongly recommend avoiding large group chats, unless you personally know and trust everyone involved - especially when it comes to sharing personal details.

That includes things like:
- Phone numbers or email addresses
- Photos of your child or family
- Your location or schedule

Private chats and group chats on Peanut are the safest place to connect, because if someone violates our guidelines, our moderation team can step in to help.

We love seeing you build community here. Let’s keep it safe for everyone 💛
