Moving in Canterbury
Hello i have a 2.5 year old and due in a few weeks with my second one. We are planning to move to Canterbury end of this year from london. Can you suggest any safe and quiet areas in the city or nearby? That we will have all the amenities that we need good nurseries, parks, shops etc?? Or even areas to avoid renting a house???

We moved to Canterbury two years ago from London. I still don't know most parts of the city, but we live close to Canterbury West station and like it - I sometimes need to commute so being close to the high speed helps. The closest nursery is a 20 min walk, and if you're driving there are at least two more that are quick rides. There's a nice meadow nearby, and the Toddler's Cove playground in the Westgate gardens is again a 15-20 min walk.
Kingsmead is probably most child friendly and still relatively central. Homersham is also lovely and a great community for parents.
It depends on what your lifestyle is and what activities you’re interested in. I would say definitely not boring, more peaceful and less hectic, but also less variety compared to London. We have baby & toddler groups every day, decent playgrounds and seaside is 20mins away.
