If 16 weeks is four months would 20 weeks be five months? I’ve seen conflicting answers online!

Well a week is 7 days, 4 weeks is 28 days, but there are 30-31 days in most months
So no, 20 weeks is not exactly 5 months

People really need to understand the difference between four weeks and a month 🙈
You see this a lot when people are asking how old their baby is, too!

My daughter was born September 15 so I consider her monthly birthday the 15th of each month

21-22 weeks

4 months before your due

Here's the super pedantic math answer no one is actually asking for because my brain likes math. Lol
A month is 4.3 or 4.4 weeks (rounded) depending on if it's 30 or 31 days. This is why it gets a little tricky. Those extra days add up over of the course of a few months. And end up adding extra weeks into the mix.
So 5 months would be roughly 21.75 weeks - using an average of 4.35.
But in reality call it whatever you want. It doesn't really matter if you want to say your pregnancy is 10 months because 40 / 4 = 10. It also doesn't matter if someone says second trimester begins at 13 or 14 weeks. Its just what you prefer as long as its close.

depends on the context. if it’s in a developmental context i’m going to use weeks and nothing else. but if i’m saying months then i go based on the calendar month, like for me my pregnancy started i think april 10th so 5 months would be from september 10th-october 10th.

I pick which ever one makes me feel better, I like the one that makes me sound like I’m further along…
Thank you for the replies. I am dyspraxic and some things for the life of me I can’t understand unless I hear a few different ways of people telling me.
