Lord forgive me if I sound ungrateful. If we haven’t spoke in a year and you haven’t even called to say congratulations… why are you planning my baby shower?

Well I would say one of two reasons.
This person feels guilty and wanted to make it up.
OR
This person is self centered and wants it to be like she did something for you.

I feel like without acknowledgment of her actions and how she made you feel, she’s not sorry.

Tell her no

your not ungrateful, your a mom trying to break the generational trauma. Be firm, don’t be sorry. This is for you and baby.

I tried to explain this to my bd he said I shouldn’t expect congratulations from his family because I’m so old and he said that i don’t have family so I should be grateful someone cares. He said my own mom didn’t congratulate me so why should his. Mind you my mom left me when I was 5. He called me ungrateful and said the baby shower isn’t even about me. This is exactly why I don’t ask nobody for anything
