They probably don’t give a shit cuz they’re not gonna be dealing with the economy for the next 50 years

They don’t rely on data to backup anything they say and they forget the world has changed. A simple comparison to things 20 or 40 years ago will quickly show how much has changed.
The middle class used to be able to afford so much more than they can now.

But it was bad back then? My parents used to have exchange students to make money. We lost our house in the 90s due to the recession and we couldn’t open the door incase it was a debt collector. My dads business went bust mainly because they packaged Betamax tapes. In the 70s there was something called a 3 day week as there wasn’t enough elextricity due to the strikes to run busibessss in the uk. They didn’t have all the stuff we have now like phones, video players, subscriptions ect but they couldn’t of afforded it anyway.

My Boomer mother is completely delusional. She keeps thinking $100k is still a lot of money and keeps asking why my husband and I dont have a house with two cars. We cant afford it! Add on top of that we cant any of our broke ass parents for any help. We're on our own.

My pawpaw is a breath of fresh air with politics and the world rn. He says he rarely ever talks politics with family because everyone argues he’s wrong. We talked about it the other day together. Never knew he shared the same views till he turned and goes “we hate him btw” pointing to the tv at trump. My pawpaw is a good man and it showed more that day than ever. He doesn’t understand why the world is turning so cruel and how you can’t even go to the store without spending $100 on 5 things 😭 my poor pawpaw.
