Diaper rash help

I'm a ftm and my 6 month old gets really bad diaper rashes, very red and with white bumps. He gets regular diaper changes, but he gets the rashes all the time. I've tried breast milk and desitin maximum strength, but his rash will go away for a few days then come back. He has an appointment with his ped coming up soon, and I'm planning on asking about it, but I don't know what to do in the mean time. Any advice helps

When my daughter had this problem I found it was the nappies I was using and the nappy powder.
I swapped brands out and she never had another issue.
I hope you find out what's wrong, it's so stressful having a baby in pain let alone being a ftm ❤️

Try a different brand of diaper cream like boudreaux butt paste. Also, do you use diaper cream regularly as a preventative or only to treat existing rash?

Mine had horrible diaper rash from pampers. We switched to huggies and it helped so much. We also did way more diaper free time and SLATHERED the desitin 40%

Try cloth diapers for a while.
