PP pain -VBAC

My March baby came early at 38 weeks so she is now officially a February baby 🩷

I had a successful VBAC on Friday morning however I had to have an episiotomy as they thought they were going to need to intervene, I have a 2nd degree tear and other lacerations which all had to be stitched.

I was given antibiotics for an infection in my stitches and also for mastitis yesterday, I am taking pain relief and I can stand for short periods of time and then I have to lay down.

Has anyone got any suggestions on what can help the pain so I can sit down on a chair or sofa?
(I have a 24 month old and haven’t been able to sit with her)

I’m also unsure on how long it will take for the pain to subside so anyone that has been through similar, if you could please share your recovery times it would be appreciated 🤍

Thank you xx

1- peri bottle with warm water to wash and just pat dry
2- try to air dry as much as possible, so lay naked on bed during the night with a towel under
3- dont sit, lay side ways
4- belly binder, helps tremendously to keep things in place and avoid some of the weight on the pelvic
5- if you are on antibiotics, make sure is the right type aka, did they do a swab? if the right antibiotics, then you should start feeling less pain after 2-3 days, but recovery will take a couple of weeks. Are the stitches undone?

Highly recommend a piles cushion so you can sit without putting pressure on any stitches!!
