Daylight Savings Time. Fun or Dumb?

All based on finding insects, by George Hudson, an amateur entomologist, hoping for more daylight to find his insects, has now actually negatively affected us since 1918 in the US.

“Mr. Hudson’s original suggestions were wholly unscientific and impracticable,” wrote one Wellington Philosophical Society (New Zealand) member. “If he really had found many to support his views, they should unite and agitate for a reform.”

It messes with our circadian rhythms, causes undue stress on our system and if you have kids, often they take a week to adjust.

Simply, not only unnecessary, but unhealthy.

What do you think?

Hate it, it screws with our dairy cows too. Messes up work and milking schedules, messes with milk production, etc

Not entirely true. Its was 1st suggested by ben franklin (1784) suggested again by hudson (1895) and william willet (1907). then actually done during ww1 to save on coal energy use 1916, 21 years after hudson. The thought had been by moving the time we could use more daylight to be more productive. I do agree being able to utilize the daylight more is nice but only during the summer. Not sure the science in circadian rhythm disruption effects tho.
