glucose test

so tomorroe is the day that has finally came i have never had to do this with my son so its all new to me.
Is there any one that has went to maternity in the royal hospital and got the glucose test done i partner is admit to come with me he even booked the day of work and uve kept explaining to him its boring we have to just sit therr will I do I cant go out for a smoke or go a walk he can escape for a smoke lol.
Im just wondering are you in a room with just your self or do you get set out side in like the waiting area and also sounds so silly but when you take the drink how light headed do you feel just trying to prepare my outfit as I know its cold out side but any time I feel faint which is not as much now but I have been like this since I started my period and still dont know what's wrong I get really warm then cold so thinking a jacket that I can take on and off lol...only thing im really dreading is trying to figure out what to have for dinner so I wont be up half the night needing a drink especially when you cant after a certain time lol and im preparing my self to become a pin cushion as never seem to get bloods out of me so fingers crossed I get a nurse who can get them straight away or they'll be scraping me off the floor lol

I had mine at the ulster so might not be the same but I just had to sit in the waiting area. I went by myself and just read for the wait time. Didn’t feel lightheaded after the drink and the drink wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be tbh.

The royal hospital have like a general waiting room for the test with comfy chairs, I recommend you go 10-15 minutes early, dress lightly the room is warm even bring a light cardigan to wrap over you whilst you wait and I recommend a phone charger or a hook depending on how long your test is. With my first I fainted and vomited so the test ended after 15 minutes but they were amazing put me on a gurney and fed me biscuits etc, with my 2nd (just last month) I was first in and first out and I felt amazing during the test maybe a bit warm but just let the nurses know if you feel dizzy or unwell. Eat right up until 10pm or you will regret it the next morning and bring a snack for after

You are allowed sips of water overnight just so you know 🙂 and definitely bring a snack for just after. It is pretty boring, it’s a general waiting area. I went on my own and just read a book/ scrolled on my phone in between getting bloods done. The drink is fine, it’s a bit like a capri sun. There is a toilet on the corridor outside the blood room, but it’s best to just sit in the waiting room as much as possible to avoid altering the test results by moving around too much. It’s really not too bad at all you’ll be fine ☺️

I did the same and got a nice lunch after - was glad I did make the most of it as it turned out I do have gestational diabetes 🙈

Anxiety with the bump.

I’m 36 weeks pregnant and I’ve suddenly developed a massive anxiety around anyone standing behind me. My husband is annoying me so much because even though I’ve told him how it makes me feel, he’s continued doing stuff in our kitchen (that is tiny anyway) and sliding past me to grab things. I know the baby is safe even if I were to bump the bump a little but even the thought of it is still making extremely anxious. How do I cope with this feeling and is anyone else going through the same sort of thing?

Please be nice as I have anxiety…

So I’m 20 weeks pregnant and I went to the hospital for light bleeding when I wipe ( not ever time though).. the doctor told me it was due to sex and that my cervix was irritated has anyone else experienced this? And or know way to just calm my anxiety from it

Breathless and feeling like I need to be sitting constantly!

Has anyone else been feeling this way as they're getting closer to their due date?

I attempted to change our bedding this evening and had to call my husband for back up as I literally felt like my lungs were going to explode just trying to reach over to put the sheet on.

I'm huffing and puffing just getting my toddler into his pjs, and I was sat down! Like what is going on 😮‍💨🥲

Everything has been check ie bloods etc so I think it's just general pregnancy as I'm now 38 weeks. My bump feels like it weighs about 100lbs 😭
