Unfortunately I wasn't able to BF with my first and I'd like to with my second (if possible, when the time comes) - Aside from the reason why I couldn't BF, I also didn't seem to produce anything anyway but could this have been because I wasn't actively trying?
Is there anything you can do to increase production? Did you 'successfully' BF a second child if you didn't or couldn't BF with your first?

I didn’t Bf w my first. Formula for 2m, we tried so many and all constipated the F out of her she was whistling and going red while pooping, what she did finally push out were hard pellets, we put her onto donor milk until 1yr that’s the only milk that filled up her nappy and made her feel better. Traumatised from that formula experience I vowed myself to force myself to BF any future babies, baby 2 I BF until she was 4 and baby 3 I Bf him until he was 3. (And pumping a freezer stash for both coz I was scared of being a “just enougher” I forced my body into oversupply) Between 3 kids I’ve Bf a lil over 7yrs.

I tried with my first, but I was only 18 and received next to no support or help with it. I would always fall asleep while BF him and it scared me. We put him on hungry baby formula around 1 month and he was happy as Larry. Funnily he had to be weaned at 4m instead cause the milk wasnt doing enough for him, now hes a little bean pole who only eats noodles and sausage rolls who's a few months from turning 13
I didnt bother trying with my youngest, I think I was still a little scared from the first time. We bought the pre-made bottle of cow & gate formula to take with us. Little did we know he's lactose intolerant

Whatever milk you remove from the breast, your body then makes to replace it. So if you weren’t actively removing the milk via pumping or breastfeeding then your body will no longer make the milk, giving you the impression that you didn’t make much to begin with. Knowledge and education is SO important, so do research beforehand.
