Try maybe doing it the other way around. I put my 4 year old first to sleep then my baby so I’m not making my life harder

I used to give my boy something handsy and interactive, so like play doh or drawing (depending on their personality whether they’ll be messy/eat it etc), or sticker sheets and a blank piece of paper was a huge favourite. Or I would give him a job of colour sorting his hot wheels into a ‘traffic jam’. Something that they can work on as a ‘surprise’ for you. But honestly on the really hard days, it was an episode or 2 of something on Netflix or Disney 😅

my youngest is almost 3 months old . I take her with me whilst i read my eldest a bed time story. I bought my eldest one of those galaxy projectors and I put it on while I read her a story and my youngest loves it a lot so I lay her on the bed and give my eldest her time until i tuck her in xx also like Aimee said nothing wrong with an ipad I do it with my eldest when I try to get things done or trying to put my youngest down for a nap and she loves it 😅 x

My 4 year old usually goes to bed first. As he's tired. I let my 1 year old just walk around whilst I'm sorting out my eldest for bed usually giving him his toothbrush to chew on helps. I am fortunate that my 4 year old doesn't need much assistance to get to sleep now, if we are reading books we do this downstairs with my youngest. Some nights he listens to his yoto player after I've put him into bed and other nights he goes straight to sleep he's usually pretty tired.
