ADHD at 4yrs old

Am I crazy? Is it possible to be diagnosed at this age ? My partner and baby daddy has ADHD and I know it can be inherited. My partner has a child from a previous relationship who is 15yrs old and apparently has been diagnosed. (According to the mother who is cray cray) they like in a diff country so doesn’t see or talk to him through the mothers choice.

Our 4yr old can be chaotic. A boys boy. Hyper, physical, good at climbing, good at puzzles, good at problem solving over all just very smart. His cognitive side is high where his speaking is a bit behind. He can talk and talk sentences and understand what you ask and can vocal what he wants but sometimes it’s still mumbo jumbo. I’d say he can talk 80% normal then 20% is all over the place (hope makes sense)

He can sit for ages and watch tv or play and doesn’t necessarily flip between things.

His emotional side can be a bit fragile and even the nursery has mentioned this that he can find it hard to control them. He is for whatever reason a ‘hitter’ and will just hit kids at nursery sometimes for reasons and others no reason. He can hit us too and sometimes the teachers. Especially if he’s frustrated and this is worse if he’s frustrated and tired.

I deep down don’t think he has adhd but im starting to wonder just with little things here and there

Anyone any experience ?

We have just been accepted on to the pediatrics waiting list for assessment. Id highly recommend having a HV come out and you go through all your concerns with them. That's what we did, they had a further HV trained in these assessments come out and go over everything again, put forward for assessment with being told he might be rejected but we were accepted. The whole process took about 3 months to get onto the list
