Please don’t judge me but I only wash my daughters hair once a week or more frequently if it’s super dirty because of the same thing. What has helped up is making her look up to eat a popsicle😂🤷🏻♀️ I make the “popsicle “ it’s literally just a smoothie that I dump into a pop mold.

My little one bathe everyday, I use to wash her hair ever other day and now I do it once a week or if I see its dirty from food I will wash it. She hates it. She freaks out, cries and stands up to get out of the bathe. She started doing this for about 3 months and never mind it before. She doesn't mind if I spash water on her but starts freaking out if I use a plastic cup to pour the water on her body. Its a stage they are going through but don't give in, just let them know they are OK and the steps you are doing. Once you give it, it will never get better.

My son haaaaaated his hair washed too. One day I told him to cover his own ears and somehow something so simple was a total game changer! He covers his ears while I use a cup to get his hair wet and rinse after

I used to give my daughter a few small bowls from the kitchen to play with whilst having bath. Add in some shampoo to get bubbles. She was distracted enough to play with that while I washed her hair. Make her look up and ask her to search for any weird thing like clouds, birds, spiders but keep a conversation going so that she is distracted. Try to keep calm because they pick up on your emotions. Alternatively, attach a showerhead to the bathtub tab and let her spray water on her own hair if she is big enough to do so with lots of praise.

I forgot to say she's only 2

My son used to have long hair, we only washed it once a week. I used to give him a wash cloth to hold and he was in charge of covering his eyes when we put water on his head. We would say his name and 'ready' to let him prepare for it happening each time. He didn't like the loud sound the shower made when he closed his eyes so we would turn the shower down abit and use a jug to tip water on his head. We put relaxing music and lower lights on for bath/shower time and then proper relaxation comes after as i'd give him a massage before getting pajamas on. We still had some tears here and there though depending on mood or tiredness
