Tooth extraction in pregnancy

Hi, I was told at my last appointment I’d need my wisdom tooth extracted I had no pain at the time so he said we’d leave it for now. I’m back in June I’ll be about 25/26 weeks pregnant i currently still don’t have any issues with the tooth will I be able to wait until after baby is born to have it extracted does anyone know? X

I had a wisdom tooth snap in half when I was pregnant with my 2nd and another was growing towards other teeth. My dentist didn’t want to do it while I was pregnant but put everything in place to do it after. I ended up needing it done at the hospital cause I needed to be knocked out due to anxiety with local anaesthetic not working on normal teeth fixes.

Personally, if it’s safe to do it during pregnancy I would do it now - your hands will be full after the baby comes and you won’t get much rest if you’re in pain. It’s safe to have local anaesthetic and at 25 weeks you should be ok to lay on your back or slightly inclined. I’m sure they know you’re pregnant but say anyway, and remember you get free dental treatment so better to go now and then if you need any follow-up care you can get it whilst you’re still under free care xx

(I might need a root canal 🦷 so I say this all with good intentions🫣 ♥️)
