Do middle names have to be meaningful

Ours aren't. We picked meaning full first names. Then just found something that sounded good for the middle name.

You can do whatever you want.

I have my son his own first name and his two middle names honor family members

Personal choice. Personally I like family names for middle name.

I personally said if we didn’t have anything that was meaningful I’d rather them not have a middle name. I don’t have a middle name for this reason but the kids have grandparents names as theirs

Don’t feel you need to have a middle name ☺️ my son has meaningful but my daughter doesn’t have one x

For us we use family/ meaningful names.
My first son has my dads name as a middle name and my second will have my brothers/ my partners sisters name as a middle name (they have the same unisex name).

I don’t think there’s any right or wrong and they don’t have to have one at all if you don’t want x
