Last week I was dilated at 1cm. This week I’m dilated at 3cm. With soft cervix thinned at 50% both checks.
Due date is April 5th and this is my first. Any advice?

I was going to get one done at my 39 week appt but didnt make it that far haha. I looked into pressure points and messed with those a bit the night before going into labor... not sure if that helped, but thats what I did.
Just trust your gut and go with the flow mama!

I have no personal other than my little one was due 4/6/25. He was born 3/18 at 37+2 after my water broke the day prior and I wasn’t even starting to dilate.
I’d ask your doctor what the pros and cons are. Does it reduce induction or C-section rates? What risks are involved? Is baby measuring big so they want to have baby ideally born before due date?

It really does depend and everyone is different but the membrane sweep is what pushed me over the edge. I was at a 3.5 and 90% effaced, got the sweep done around 10 am and was fully in labor (couldn’t talk through the contractions) by 4 pm. It does HURT like a lot a lot just so you’re aware.
On the other hand, I had a friend who did THREE membrane sweeps before delivering (seems irresponsible that the Dr did this but whatever) and she said none of them worked for her she just got bad cramping. To be fair I think she was doing them too early/not sure if they were accompanied by dilation or not.
Ultimately, trust your gut. It definitely can be the thing that puts you over the edge but also could do nothing so just explore the pros / cons and think “if it works will I be glad I did it?” And “if it doesn’t work, will I regret having done it?” And go from there.
I know it’s so hard! I just figured since that did work for me I’d share my experience

TOTALLY agree with Nicole though about asking ALL the questions
