Return to work and protected time

Hi,

I am due to return to work on Monday and have been told I'll be teaching straightway.
I was under the impression that returning staff were allowed protected time of timetable to catch up and complete necessary admin tasks. An old union rep said it was upto 2 days off.

Does anyone know what NEU says about this?

Returning to work is daunting enough as it is let alone facing a full day.

This exact thing happened to me today! I return on Wednesday and have only found out today that it was my mat covers last day today (she also only found out today!!). So we are being given no handover!! I have no clue where groups got up to, have no seating plans, no data. Nothing! And a four period day in Wednesday (I'm secondary school)! I feel even more sick about returning now
