Tonsillitis

My little boy (3 in May) has had tonsillitis 10 separate times in just under 12 months. He’s currently suffering from it now having only had it a fortnight ago. He is high risk for febrile convulsions which have only ever happened with tonsillitis. He’s now on the waiting list for Luton and Dunstable hospital to have his tonsils removed but I’ve been told it’s up to a 30 week wait 😭. Has anyone got any advice? Anyone had their little one get their tonsils removed? He’s been spiking fevers up to 40 degrees today and is so unwell and in pain within himself. I feel like his immune system is compromised as she seems to always be on antibiotics and suffering. I genuinely can’t remember the last time he had a common cold

Hey sorry to jump on! Can't give advice on little one having tonsils removed but have a similar situation! My little boy has had 2 febrile seizures in the past 2 years. At the time there didn't seem to be any indication as to why this happened, not really seeming unwell etc but over the past 6 months he's also had tonsilitis a lot which has spiked his temp randomly, he can tell me when he's in pain now so I know what to look for so wondering if that could've been what has happened the last 2 times if he had it and we didn't know. He's had colds etc but only ever seems to have high temps with tonsilitis. I can totally sympathize with you and it's always such a worry whenever they have high temperatures. The 30 week wait is crazy especially with the amount of times your little one has had it, hope he feels better soon!
