Any 16 month olds dealing with recurring constipation? If so, any tips? I’m obviously trying to get him more water and fiber, but the dude is stubborn and he still consumes a lot of milk and pasta 🥴

Yes, I do honestly, do you know gripe water’s brand? I think it’s like baby Bliss or Mama Bliss may have a constipation ease and it’s just prune juice and it’s a concentrated amount so you don’t have to give them a lot. Make sure to read the directions but I think that was the best thing that I did with my son.

And obviously not every day but as long as you’re getting him to poop every other day, honestly cause I found it a little hard to get him to poop every day when he was so constipated it kind of took a couple of days for him to start pooping consistently, but yes, apple juice always add apple juice with a little bit of water that works wonders. I know it sounds crazy, but it does.

Yes more water and fiber

Both my girls had it.
With the first one, the doctor taught me how to make prune tea. Just buy prunes and boil them. Strain everything and give it to him. Maybe mix it with something else if he doesn’t like the flavor. My girly was a bit younger, so I used it to make her formula.
Prune juice helps too, but the stuff on the shelves is more artificial and I try to stay away from it.
With my current 16mo, apple juice works wonders. Her case isn’t as bad as her sister’s though.

Apple juice!!!

Mirilax is safe for children. My child takes it every day per pediatrician. One painful poop can cause babes to withhold. Keep in mind if you’re upping fiber but he won’t increase fluids, it could make the situation worse, but see your ped!

Pear juice!

Apple/prune juice and whenever we have pasta we do whole wheat or chick pea!

Frozen wild blueberries, tons of fiber and toddlers love it

I make apple/pear puree and mix it in with prune “juice” (I get whole prunes and blend it with water myself). My son (also 16mo) has bowel movements daily so it’s working!

We do “yogi” drinks we get the little 2 ounce probiotic yogurt drinks my little guys love them and it helps their tummy’s

Prune juice or prune pouches! My girl struggle with it and the pouches clean her out almost instantly
