My 3 year old son being in school since June 2025 and still cries when I drop him off. The teacher says that he likes to play alone and he doesn’t participate in classes or even speak. At home he speaks so much and I swear I never see a kids that smart and speak clear. The teacher even told me to bring him to a professional because my son can have autism. She is not a professional but I can’t avoid to think about what she says even though my son is completely normal at home. This thing doesn’t even let me sleep and I’m in Google constantly looking for autism symptoms and I swear I’m all day obsessed thinking that my son now has this or that. And everything happened since the teacher told me about this

Hi! I wanted to share this with you from both my experience as a teacher and now running my own daycare. Based on what you’re describing, I would honestly recommend taking him out now. I’ve worked in different centers, and with the current teacher shortages, many places end up hiring staff without much experience just to meet ratios and keep classrooms open. That’s actually one of the reasons I decided to open my own home daycare. One thing that stands out to me is that he’s still struggling at drop-off. It’s completely normal for the first couple of weeks during a transition, but after that, it usually improves. When it continues, it can be a sign that something isn’t the right.
As for the autism, even though we (teachers) don’t have a degree in that we know ( teachers with experience) the signs and we have thought many kids to know when a child needs extra support. I would kindly suggest to look for resources in your area and if you live in MA text me and I’ll help you❤️
