My boy has randomly started saying that a chick is there and that it’s coming for him. At first we were looking in the hall way running away from it and having fun now he’s changed and tells me he’s scared of it.
Obviously I’m saying it’s not going to get him/no need to be scared.
But has anyone else dealt with this before? Am I doing the right thing by saying nothings there?!

My little girl is the same with monsters!
I have no idea where its come from, we used to joke around because I thought she was being silly and also saying nothing was there, but now she tells me shes scared and when bedtime comes she closes the door "so no monsters get in" and she tells me there's a monster in the corner of the room..
We figured out that it was the moving shadows of us from using the night light and her imagination was developing, so I just tell her its ok to be scared of things and that mummy and daddy won't let any monsters come and that her bedroom is her safe space.
She does make references to monsters a lot where there's dark corners/shadows in the hallway etc.
We're monitoring it for now but if it gets worse or she becomes really frightened I might get a small bottle that sprays water as a mist and call it a magic monster deterrent, so she can spray away the monsters to make her feel safe. We've also given her some "magic gems" for protection to keep her safe too!

My nephew got scared of monsters in the night (it was shadows from the trees outside). So my brother made him a little spray bottle of water with a couple of drops of essential oil in [so that nephew could smell it "working"]. It helped calm him for a while as he then felt he had control to make the monsters go away when mum and dad weren't immediately there.
A chicken being the imagined creature is a new one to me tbh. Have you been to a farm or similar recently where a bird chased him or got too close for his comfort?
