We are going on holiday on Saturday with our 9 month old. I was planning on taking hot water in the flask to make her bottles but have just read on the airport website that insulated flasks must be emptied before and can be refilled in the food outlets.
Just wondering what anyone else has done about making bottles on the flight?

I recently did a return trip to Aus with my son who is bottle fed. You can make a bottle up before going through security, or get hot water at one of the cafes on the other side. Can’t usually take water in the flask through security. I was also able to get boiling water on the plane and used rapid cools with pre measured powder to make his bottles along the way. Otherwise you could just get the pre-made formula bottles.

I went away in October and they allowed me to take hot water in an insulated flask through security. They allow it when baby is present with you. I’ve just checked my local airport and the rules are still the same with a baby and baby food. Where are you flying from?

I was under the impression that everything and anything baby related (milk, powder, hot water in a flask) are allowed in the baby bag.
I might be wrong but I travelled to Europe in October 2025 and I had approximately 600ml of pumped breast milk divided across 3 bottles and had no issues at security. Yes, my luggage was taken aside for further inspection but that was it.
I flew out from Heathrow airport

I was made to empty out hot water from a flash at Glasgow airport - I refilled at Starbucks and then also used hot water on the plane.
