Those with pets - have you experienced pet aversion post baby?

Yes! I’m a service dog handler & a dog trainer, swore up and down it would never happen to me, oh man I was wrong. My service dog had to spend a lil time at grandmas house when I was in the early days of postpartumhood & another stay at grandmas when we took a vacation that would’ve been a big ask of him to work for me.

It’s super common & typically does go away!

My cat was my BABY, she was here before the husband and the kids. But during pregnancy I was filled with so much rage towards her and it ended up to where I no longer see her as my cat at all, she’s my husbands- thankfully she has him to spoil her. She’s a great cat. I still pet her and everything, but the “emotional connection” is pretty surface level :/

Maybe it’ll go back to normal in a few years, highly doubt it
