Formula feeding….

My boy was prescribed Aptamil Pepti 1 nearly 7 weeks ago now. His rash cleared but the mucus nappies continued, I gave it 6 weeks as I know it can take a while for his gut to heal.

Last Friday when changing him I noticed what I think was blood (not 100% sure though) and the GP was happy to change his milk (Nutramigen) which we are waiting for our chemist to have in stock.

Last Friday he was sick a lot after feeds, this has happened a few times leading up to Friday and I presumed it’s because pepti was quite thin and was planning on buying carobel.

His rash has now come back and he’s had loose nappies since Sunday. I presumed he was maybe having a bit of a clear out as he didn’t go on Saturday. I know it’s normal to not go everyday but my boy does.

Now after every feed he’s having loose nappies. Orange in colour, it’s still slightly mucus like and I think seedy (not 100% sure because the smell is unreal🤮 what I can only describe as death!!). His last feed he went halfway through a bottle.

I’m not sure if it’s a viral bug or it’s because of Pepti? Should I be taking him to the GP?

He’s fine in himself (maybe sleepier than normal), still feeding, small wake periods, not crying in pain etc. he’s been really windy since starting pepti but even this smells now.

With him still feeding I’m guessing it’s the milk? I’m hoping it’ll be available to pick up today 🤞🏻

Aptimil pepti 1 still has milk in it the proteins have just been broken down, it’s more suitable for babies who are have a mild allergy, if littles ones nappies were still an issue the whole time then I’d assume it’s the formula. Some babies can handle it and some need a formula that is completely dairy free

We was on pepti 1 we had similar issues we have changed to amino acid milk neocate the smells worse than pepti and we have to use carobel with it. You can get carobel on prescription as well if that is helpful for you. I would talk to your doctor if it doesn’t approve. Pepti 1 usually makes the poop green so I would get checked

Has anyone else ever seen this ad before??

I am honestly shocked that I keep seeing this ad on Pinterest for such a dangerous product. I've reported it several times, even emailing Pinterest support directly.
I've had them remove my pins and threaten to take down my account over the dumbest stuff yet things that put babies at risk is fine? I was just thinking that maybe if a lot of people report it it will actually make a difference? I'll put the link in the comments, please report it if you have the time.

Sleep help PLEASE

We transitioned our little boy to a floor bed around 12 months and was amazing at the time for him to have extra space etc. He did amazing at not climbing out through the night etc. He went through 14 then 18 month regression and was abit of a struggle but we just had to lay with him to settle him then sneak out. He got over the regression about 3 weeks ago and the past week or so he’s refused to go to sleep unless you’re in his bed with him having a cuddle which I absolutely do not mind, it’s his only comfort he has never taken to a dummy/comforter or teddy.

Since this has started over the past week he’s been waking 3/4 times in the night and opening his bedroom door (we have a stair gate) and crying shouting mammy and daddy until we go lay in his bed to get him back to sleep.

Any tricks/methods to get him back to being able to self soothe and sleep on his own all whilst being in a floor bed? We did sleep training around 4 months in his cot and did the gentle ferber method, he’s never been left to ‘cry it out’ and wouldn’t be able to cope doing that now.

Colostrum

Have people successfully collected colostrum, and did you do anything to prepare (other than having a warm bath/shower)? I’m 37 weeks and have been trying in the last few days - but nothing is coming out! My midwife did say it could take a while, but I’m also worried that this could be an early indication of my lack of milk supply when the baby is here. Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated! (FTM, if you can’t tell 🤣)

Unsettling between 6pm-10pm

Looking for any tips and advice here if anyone has/had similar experience, we noticed our baby has been so unsettling for the last 5 days in a row between 6pm to 10pm, until she eventually gets too tired and falls in asleep. She refuses to drink the full milk amount she normally does , constant kicks off crying , we tried bath her, burp her, feed, change nappie, infaco, swaddle her, doesn’t seem to work. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you !

Snuz pod - 3 week old won’t settle!!

My 3 week old will not settle in his snuzpod at night time! I’ve even tried bringing the Moses back upstairs to see if that makes a difference but still the same. I put him down and 20 mins later is so unsettled and starts crying. He just wants to be on me
