Introducing formula

I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding my daughter for 10 months now and, after a really tough start to our journey, I’ve gotten to a place where I really do love it. However, I’ll be returning to work at the end of the month meaning my daughter will be going to nursery (eeek) and will need some form of milk while there 3 days a week.

I hate pumping and can’t bear the pressure of having to pump a certain amount everyday for her, so I’ve decided on formula. I’ve started out with the ready made Kendamil stage 2 formula bottles but she’s refusing them completely. I’ve tried MAM bottles, Tommee Tippee bottles, sippy cups and straw cups but none seem to work. She’ll drink water through a straw completely fine but the second she tastes formula she refuses it completely.

I’m really starting to worry about nursery as I only have 3 more weeks until she starts. Does anyone have any tips on formula to try, different cups, best ways to introduce different milk?

Mine wouldn’t take formula at all same as yours but did take a little pumped milk from a bottle. I know not ideal but what I’m doing is pumping and mixing pumped milk with formula in slowly increasing amounts. So far it seems to be going well and she did drink a little formula on its own the other day x

Like amy said, temporarily pumping and adding more formula vs bm at each feed is the way to go to help her adjust to the taste! Best of luck! ❤️

Sleep advice…

I need some mummas advice and tips 🙏🏼

Currently my baby is 4 months and sleeps in my bed in between me and my husband. Shes snuggled in her docatoc with a love-to-dream swaddle (arms up rather than arms tucked down) during the day she’s in her Moses basket in the front room, in the same swaddle.

But I feel like it’s time to change things for these reasons…

1. She’s outgrowing the docatoc at night
2. She starting to try and roll so need to remove the swaddle
3. During the day, she is so sensitive to noise and light, I feel maybe she needs to start napping upstairs where it’s quiet and dark.

So my plan is to move her to the next to me crib that’s been gathering dust, and put her in a sleep sack at night. And during the day, put her upstairs in a sleep sack, but not in the next to me, she actually has her own room with a cot and black out curtains, I thought I’d put her in there during the day. She is very much used to her room. I often put her in the cot while she’s awake when I’m getting ready in the morning and she happy in there.

I feel like this is all a lot to change at once, should I do things slowly? I don’t know how to make these changes without freaking her out.

Help!!

Being sick PP

Hiya, I need some advice if this has happened to anyone PP.

Since around 7/8 months PP I started being sick here and there, I put it down to stress due to work. However it stopped for a month or so but it’s just started back up again I’m a year PP.

I’m due back to work soon so could be stress but it feels more, physically I feel like my body is giving up on me abit just achey tummy, back & legs just feel very week and achey (lack of sleep and exhaustion) but wondering if anyone else had this PP and what it was?

I’m still breastfeeding to. Struggling to come away from it as my baby relies on it so much especially when teething but maybe it’s getting too much for me.

I am going to go to the doctors but it being the weekend and a long wait for apts I’m just wondering in the mean time🙏🏻

Recommendations - Cabin approved stroller

What do people recommend for a cabin approved stroller? Ideally rear facing. Budget around £200 max. Little one is 6 months old, but still quite small

Introducing baby to your toddler

How are you planning to do that? Bringing your toddler to hospital or are you waiting till you're back from hospital? I have a 2yo toddler. He has no idea hes about to become a big brother. Just don't know what's best for him.
Also hes a nursery child. What's your advise in regards to this? Skipping a few days or continuing with his routine?
