Overthinking

I'm a first time mum and pregnancy is going well I'm currently 25 + 1 day but I can not stop overthinking bad things!!

Does anyone else have this and how to help these thoughts or not for anxiety to be so high about things 😭😭

My therapist recommended doing a real or not real exercise. For every bad/negative thought you have thing about what the facts around it are. What do you know, what is happening and if you have no information to suggest this bad/negative thing is happening or likely to happen then it's not real and try to keep doing that every time a thought takes over.

Yes I’m the same, I’m almost 24 weeks and have had the same problem of thinking of worst case scenario of everything even though my pregnancy has gone well so far!
I find researching helps as long as you don’t spend hours and hours going down a rabbit hole, find out how likely it is that something ACTUALLY is going to happen to you specifically. Also writing down things you can control and things you can’t. You CAN control how well you eat and exercise etc which will all help with the health of your baby but you CAN’T control if you end up having to have an emergency c section for whatever reason (if that’s something you’re worried about). So then look up the likelihood of that happening and research what that will look like if it does happen so that if it does you feel some sense of control and aren’t panicking.
For some people researching makes it worse but for me it helps me feel a small sense of control over all the things I can’t control so it helps me!
