How many times do you try to make contact before you stop when it's not reciprocated?

I wrote my number down for someone recently (asking them to send me a msg so I have their number) and have since written a letter to them asking if they are ok. I've just not heard anything since 2nd contact (yesterday)& haven't had a msg so I don't have their number. What to do?

It’s not embarrassing but I wouldn’t follow up anymore . I used to sleep with a guy on and off for 5 years . One day we argued and he said to me I won’t see you anymore , I just said okay and never texted him back . I knew his behaviour had changed a few weeks before so I could tell he had probably started seeing someone else . I can’t lie he’s one of the best sex that I had so I was heartbroken but I just said okay and never texted him back . My ego is stronger than my feelings
