My daughter just turned 20 months and I want her to start cleaning up her toys before bed but it’s really difficult. As soon as I try to put things away she’ll just undo everything or start to help me then take more things out.. how and when did your little start to clean up? We go to a little gym class and she loves to clean up there but not at home 🤦♀️

My 17 month old cleans up his toys at the end of the night. We started the routine as soon as he turned 1. He started really being able to do it himself at about 15 months, it's all about keeping the routine, eventually she'll do it at home like she does at the gym.

Keep going with it. She won't get it at first, but she will get on board, especially if you make it a fun game. We do a reward after we clean up by dancing to the Batman theme every night. I started my daughter cleaning up her toys basically when she learned to walk, and it was the best decision I ever made. Occasionally she'll even do it spontaneously during the day, without prompting. It's a great habit to set early on.
