My daughter has had amoxicillin twice for ear infections. She wouldn’t have it off the spoon and it was very hard to give her in a syringe so we mixed it in Greek yogurt and she took it that was. GP and pharmacist said it’s okay to mix in yoghurt or milk. Hope your little ones gets better soon 🤍

you can give it using a calpol syringe, just fill up to 5ml like you would for the spoon! Amoxicillin tastes sweet so she should be okay taking it, if not you can put into yogurt or even into her milk if she still drinks cows milk etc, Just keep an eye out for reaction!

My daughter was prescribed it last year and was fine, but a few weeks ago was prescribed it again and on the second dose had a reaction, all red rash and hives on her neck!
So was given different antibiotics and they were disgusting so made her sick, so needed a third lot of different ones and they worked out better, still not nice but had to be done 😩xxx

We gave it on a spoon because we found he started to refuse Calpol and nurofen from the syringe if we used it for the antibiotics

Thank you 🙏 have just given her the first 5ml dose through a syringe and she seemed to take it which is good (had a few sips of water in between) she does take calpol through that for her teething often; so think she’s got a bit better with this method.
Thanks for all of your advice - hopefully she will take it this way now but useful to know that milk and yoghurt is okay as that hadn’t been mentioned to us before x
