Running away

Went on a day out today, still half term here so everywhere was busy. Literally the most stressful day, on my own chasing my son absolutely everywhere, running towards lakes and through crowds of people, refusing to go in pushchair. Everyone else’s kids stay close, why does mine bolt everywhere we go and when does this phase end please? Tell me it’s not just me as I am not ok 🥴

Our lg does this sometimes, but you have to be firm. Give them a warning, if they run again/don't walk nicely, then put them in the pushchair and deal with the few minutes of tantrum

Mine has been going through this phase for a loong time, she is extremely stubborn, only just starting to get better now, it takes lots of practice for them to walk safely next to you and understand the dangers. We used reins at first, then she would go in the puschair as soon as she ran off which helped her to learn fast that running off just gets her back in the pram. Its very stressful and i still cant always predict if she will suddenly dart now but its a lot better than it was. Still feel like i have to be on high alert when out anywhere
